Nothing is as fun as snow. At least that’s what one little boy thinks. But while he stares up at the sky, he misses all the excitement down on the street. There goes a fire engine and a monster truck! And are those monkeys!? Just SNOW Already! captures children’s love of snow and their frustration with waiting. Bursting with hilarious details, it offers a humorous observation about living in the moment and noticing what’s around you.
The Making of as someone who currently lives in Rochester, NY, JUST SNOW ALREADY! perfectly captures the feeling of anxiously awaiting the first snow of Winter. I was excited to bring that energy to life with our fantastic Animation Director Meghdad Asadilari who had TONS of elements to animate with the assistance of RIT graduate students Yuting Shao and Hamideh Azimi - Monkeys! Fire trucks! Clowns!
Production Designer Jennifer Mara and Set Decorator Daniella Tasman turned a posh SoHo hotel suite into a poppy melange of Winter and Spring, and the great Julianna Margulies brought it all to life with her generosity and enthusiasm .
I worked with Barbie Leung as Cinematographer, Liam Dillon as Camera Operator and RIT alum Sarah Alexander as Assistant Camera. Location Sound by Henry French, Sound Design by Hamilton Sterling and Score by Jaimee Jimin Park rounded out a blast of an episode whose manic energy reminded me of the spec episode I shot back in Los Angeles 4 years earlier for NOTHING EVER HAPPENS ON MY BLOCK that got me hired on my very first Storyline episode.
